Praying for the Wright Family: Trusting God in the Journey

As a church, we are called to stand with those who go to the nations, and last Sunday we had the privilege of sending out the Wright family to serve on the mission field. Their journey is an answer to God’s calling, and while they step forward in faith, they need our support—not just in words, but in prayer.

Stepping into a new culture, adjusting to a different pace of life, and learning to trust God in fresh ways will be a challenge for the Wrights. As they prepare to leave, we have the opportunity to partner with them in prayer. Specifically, we can ask God to pave the way for a smooth visa process and to strengthen Mary Ellen and Frankie as they adjust to their new home.

Praying for a Smooth Visa Process
One of the biggest logistical hurdles for missionaries is securing the necessary documentation to live and serve in another country. The Wrights need their visas approved without unnecessary delays so they can step into their ministry without added stress. Bureaucratic processes can be frustrating, but we know that God is sovereign over governments, policies, and paperwork. Let’s pray that God would clear the path, expedite the process, and provide the right connections to make it all happen smoothly.

Lifting Up Mary Ellen and Franklin in Their Transition
Leaving behind what’s familiar is never easy, especially for young children. Mary Ellen and Franklin will experience a whirlwind of changes—new surroundings, a different language, unfamiliar faces, and a lifestyle unlike what they’ve known. Adjusting to these changes will take time and grace. Let’s ask God to surround them with a sense of peace and stability, to bring friendships that will ease their transition, and to fill their hearts with joy in their new home.

How We Can Support Them
Beyond our prayers, we can send messages of encouragement, check in with them regularly, and continue to give toward their ministry. But prayer remains our greatest tool. James 5:16 reminds us, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” As the Wrights embark on this journey, let’s commit to lifting them up before the Lord, trusting that He will provide for their every need.

God has called them, and He will sustain them.
