Because He Lives: Four Ways the Resurrection Demands Your Life
If Christ really is raised, then life cannot stay the same. Resurrection changes everything—or it changes nothing. Here are four ways it confronts us.
1. Anchor Your Hope in Christ, Not Circumstances
What happens when life caves in—when the doctor calls, when your child walks away, when headlines scream chaos? If your hope is in circumstances, you’ll collapse with them. But if Christ is raised, your future is secure. Tears may fall, but the anchor holds. Anything less is unbelief.
2. Take Gospel Risks That Only Make Sense if Eternity Is Real
Paul said, “I die daily.” Resurrection made him fearless. What about you? What obedience have you delayed because it feels too costly? One life plays it safe and wastes the moment. Another risks everything for Christ and gains eternal reward. Which story will be yours?
3. Reject the Lie That Life Is About Comfort
The world says, “Chase pleasure.” Resurrection says, “Live for eternity.” One life centers on sports, hobbies, and upgrades, with church and ministry as leftovers. Another rearranges everything around worship, service, and mission. One climbs the ladder of success only to find it leaning against the wrong wall. The other invests in what will last forever. Which ladder are you climbing?
4. Wake Up and Pursue Holiness
Paul warns: “Do not be deceived… Wake up… Stop sinning.” Some of you are playing games with God—excusing secret habits, laughing at sin, drifting half-asleep. But sin always destroys. Young men, don’t waste your strength on pornography, video games, or chasing reputation. Use it to fight for holiness, serve the church, and lead with courage.
Friend, if your life shows no fight for holiness, that is not Christianity. Because He lives, your future is secure—or your judgment is certain. Which will it be?
