What Is Christ Doing in Your Life?

Answering this question is one of the best ways of sharing your faith with those around you.  People may argue your politics, religious beliefs, etc., but they cannot argue with your experience.  How is Christ changing you?

Notice I didn’t ask, “How has Christ changed you?”  That almost sounds like He’s finished changing you.  The fact is that in order to be conformed to the image of Christ, we have lots of changing that needs to take place.

People usually identify with our weaknesses, not our strengths.  If I’m trying to invite someone to hear the gospel on Easter Sunday, the worst thing I can say is, “Hey, you need to come to church so you can be more like me!”  Everyone knows you’re not perfect and nobody wants to be like you.  Everyone recognizes you need to change but deep down many of them know they need to be changed, too!

When we share our faults and how Christ is helping us overcome those things by becoming more like Him, people identify with that.  They’re not intimidated by that.  In fact, my guess is that they’re attracted to the humility of someone who can admit their shortcomings.

For this Sunday, I’d like to challenge you to share how Jesus is impacting your life through prayer, Bible study, and being involved in your local church.  That’s how lives change and that’s what people need – to become more like Jesus.  As you do this, people will become more open to hear your personal experience and maybe even come to church to see what all this resurrection fuss is all about!  Happy Easter!
