Hello FBC Kenova!
I grew up in South Central Kentucky and for as long as I can remember I have always been a die-hard Kentucky sports fan. But I also enjoy pulling for the Thundering Herd. I became a Christian during my first year of college at Eastern Kentucky University through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (“Cru”) in 2006. I have since graduated with a degree in Accounting and served on staff with Cru as a campus minister for 6 years at EKU, Marshall University, and the University of Louisville. I have been privileged to go on several mission trips in the U.S. as well as to Russia, Argentina, and Lebanon. I married my beautiful wife Kayla in May of 2016. We initially met in college and reconnected a few years later at a missions conference. We began writing to one another and soon emails turned into phone calls, phone calls into dates, and soon I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this incredible young lady.
Kayla grew up in Louisville, KY. She also went to Eastern Kentucky University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Occupational Science and a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with an incredibly compassionate heart. She also minored in Art at EKU so if you come into our home and notice our decorations, art projects, or paintings you are free to compliment her as they are most certainly her delightful creations. Kayla has been on multiple mission trips in the US and went to Brazil 3 years ago on her first international trip.
Currently, I am taking online classes at Southern Seminary and am delighted to be back in West Virginia to serve as the Young Adults Minister. Helping young adults grow in their understanding of God’s Word, God’s love, and God’s calling on their life is a passion of ours and we are excited to serve at FBC Kenova. Thank you for this tremendous opportunity!
