Guide for June 2017 Summer Ministries

The school year of 2016-17 was a great time for our Sunday evening ministries.  The Garage Student Ministries had its highest average attendance of the last decade.  Our Awana ministries are still going strong.  Celebrate Recovery has reached about as many people as any ministry in our church.  We’ve developed a young adult ministry for those who help watch our kids on Wednesday nights for small groups.

Our Sunday morning worship participation was the highest it’s been in half a century.  Marshall Community Fellowship had its highest spring attendance since its inception. Offerings are the highest they’ve been in the history of the both campuses.  God has done some incredible things among us.

We hope this summer will be a time of celebration as well.  During the first week of June we’ll be hosting Vacation Bible School (the details are listed later in this Messenger).  On Sunday, June 11th at 6pm our Mission Committee will be showing an incredible movie depicting an awesome work of God through his mission around the world.

The highlight of the month may be an event on Wednesday night, June 14th.  We are having a special missionary visit our congregation. I can’t publish more information about him except to say you will be truly challenged by his testimony. Please mark your calendar for this date.  Barbara Hicks and her team will be preparing dinner for our entire congregation that night as well.  Childcare will be provided for children under 6 years of age.  You will not want to miss this powerful testimony of God’s redemptive work.

We also want to encourage Small Groups to continue to meet throughout the summer even if you do not have the child care to gather on a weekly basis.  Let’s not lose touch with the ones we need for support and accountability.

God bless you church.  This summer, let’s continue to be a part of what God is doing at Kenova, MCF and our Ashland campuses.
